Currently in a queue for Argyle v Wednesday tickets ahead of tomorrow night.
It’s given me a chance to go through previous musings I’ve written regarding Argyle. I had them flirting with the playoffs but coming up just short before a ball was kicked.
I adjusted that after seeing them plenty of times this season to a definite playoff team but still thought they were just short of being true automatic contenders.
I felt teams would figure them out eventually and they only had one way of playing.
After Saturdays out Wycombing of Wycombe, it’s time to jump on the Argyle Automatic bandwagon.
The feeling around Home Park just oozes confidence and positivity right now. You can smell promotion in the air as it comes up off the waves of Plymouth Sound and engulfs the City.
They’ve, in my opinion, the best Keeper in the EFL. Bali Mumba playing at a League One level that is clearly below him. The ability to rotate Azaz, Mayor & Whittaker. Hell, even Sam Cosgrove has found a place where he’s loved.
On a personal level, it’s time to admit that I got Nigel Longwijk wrong. He hasn’t put a foot wrong and the RCB position is his spot to lose now.
With Accrington to come on Saturday, back to back home games gives Argyle a chance to firmly solidify themselves at the top of the table.
Not sure if you can tell but I’m extremely excited for this fixture tomorrow night. Looking forward to seeing Wednesday at close quarters in a match where both teams play a similar system.
Although, I wonder if Schumacher has something different up his sleeve again for this fixture. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted an extra midfielder to try and outnumber Bannan and Vaulks.
We’ll see.
